Dr. David J. Casper is a Double Board Certified Dermatologist and Mohs Surgeon who specializes in diagnosing and treating skin cancer; as well as diagnosing and treating many other important dermatological diseases such as, Psoriasis, Eczema, and Rosacea, among others. Dr. Casper has been actively involved in dermatology, and treating dermatology patients since 2007. He treats patients of all ages, and enjoys making a difference in the lives of his patients. Dr. Casper is Board Certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, Fellow of the American Society for Mohs Surgery, Fellow of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and Fellow of the Florida Society for Dermatologic Surgery. He is a member of several prestigious academies and is a published author. In addition, he is a staff member with privileges at The Villages Regional Hospital with the Central Florida Health Alliance.
Dr. Casper was born and raised in Winterset, Iowa, recognized for “The Bridges of Madison County”, located about 20 miles southwest of Des Moines. He graduated with honors from the University of Iowa, and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry. Afterwards, he received his Doctor of Medicine degree with outstanding distinction from Temple University in Philadelphia and was nominated into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. After medical school, he moved to Tampa, FL where he completed his residency in dermatology at the University of South Florida. While there, he was awarded, “outstanding resident”, at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer hospital and honorably served as chief resident during his senior year of residency training.
Dr. Casper is married to his wife Laura and has 3 children, Adele, Ava and Ethan. His interests outside of dermatology include spending time with his family and running. He has completed 5 marathons and the Dopey Challenge at Walt Disney World which is a 4-day event including a 5k, 10k, half-marathon and a full-marathon on the last day.
